Privacy policy.

What happens to the information you share, in plain language. Last updated 20 September 2026.

Who this covers

Seafog is based in Wellington, New Zealand. This page explains what happens to your information if you use seafog.nz or send an enquiry through it. Any question about it can go through the enquiry form.

What's collected

The only information collected is what you type into the enquiry form: your name, email address, what you're after, your city, and anything you write in the message field. Nothing is collected automatically when you simply browse the site, beyond the standard technical logs any web host keeps (things like IP address and browser type), which aren't linked back to you personally.

How it's used

Solely to reply to your enquiry and, if it goes ahead, to quote and deliver the work. It's never added to a mailing list, never used for marketing, and never sold or shared with advertisers.

Who sees it

The form is processed by Web3Forms, a third party service that delivers your enquiry straight to Seafog's inbox. Web3Forms states that it does not retain a copy once it's delivered. Their own privacy policy covers how they handle it in transit. Nobody else sees it.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not currently run any analytics or advertising trackers, and sets no cookies of its own. If that changes, for example to add anonymised analytics, this page will be updated to say so before it happens.

The visitor counter at the bottom of each page adds one to a single running total, held by a free counting service (abacus.jasoncameron.dev), once per browser session. No cookie is set and nothing about you is stored with the count, though like any web request the service sees your IP address.

How long it's kept

Enquiry details are kept only for as long as it takes to respond to you and, if you become a client, for the life of the project and the usual accounting retention period after that. If nothing comes of an enquiry, it's deleted rather than kept indefinitely.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Send the request through the enquiry form and it will be actioned within a reasonable time. If you think a request hasn't been handled properly, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

This page may be updated occasionally as the site or the way it collects information changes. The date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
