Why Squarespace, and when it isn't right
Squarespace is the right answer for most small New Zealand businesses: it's stable, it doesn't need patching every month, and you can change your own prices and photos without calling anyone.
- Nothing to update or patch, and far less to go wrong than WordPress
- The editor is simple enough that you'll actually use it
- Hosting, SSL and backups are handled, with no separate invoices
- I write custom code where the platform stops, so it doesn't look like a template
It's the wrong answer if you need a complex booking engine, a large product catalogue with unusual rules, or something genuinely custom. I'll tell you that when I quote, and I can build the custom version if that's what the job needs.
